The quiet place where the noise of main highways disappears.
The quiet rice field is filled with the people, and the grove of miscellaneous trees of the mountain behind becomes the home of the small animal including the insect.
There is the Okubo kiln in such Kurihara-shi Takeshi Kanari Kubo district.

[pioneer Yoichi Murakami of the after the war northeastern ceramic art]
"I am a student rather than an artist"
I analyze soil in Tohoku from the state that nothing has according to words, documents of the northeastern potter's clay for 25 years.
After having arrived at the Kurikoma foot of a mountain, I repeat studies every day and I squeeze it to half now potter's clay that half a century passed and continue studying 18 kinds of potter's clay more deeply.

The ascending kiln of the Okubo kiln is broken by an earthquake commencing with Iwate, Miyagi inland earthquake, the Great East Japan Earthquake seven times
But, it revives each time and continues still producing works powerfully.

As for the work which continue lighting it without sleeping in Mr. Murakami one in 3 night and day, and baked,; one is elaborating of the consecration each.
Soil and a Kay stone, the straw ash of the glaze, the diligent gallaash used for making earthenware are all Kurikoma things from the foot of a mountain.
Saying "Tohoku was called the sterile ground of the ceramic ware once, but, is northeastern, and there is surely the soil of the ceramic ware"; Mr. Murakami.
In a magazine of the 30th anniversary of the open kiln in 1995
"The north soil is valid. Mr. Murakami that always kept it in mind to get a heart of the soil, and to make the grilled dish appropriate for the characteristic, but said, it is only what I yet hesitated about.

It is right half a century of a search and the challenge.
